NavCenter Meteorological Monitor (USA)
You must have the ShockWave Plug-In to properly view the Meteorological Monitor. If you don't have ShockWave, please download it.
Wind Forecast
The Meteorological Monitor displays color-coded wind speed and direction indicators in a one degree latitude/longitude grid, animated over a three day period. NavCenter uses NOAA forecasts and is updated in six hour intervals. Weather data can be download for use with MaxSea marine software and MaxSea's new Optimum Routing feature.
Buoy Forecasts
The Meteorological Monitor offers information on both moored buoy and C-MAN Stations. By selecting a buoy, current data is displayed, including, water temperature, wave height, wave period, wind direction, air temperature, barometric pressure and rise and fall. Data is updated hourly.
Satellite Imagery
Satellite imagery is available for both the Atlantic (US) and Pacific (US) regions. Clouds, storms, hurricanes and any other major disturbances are displayed. The boater is allowed to zoom in and out, and scroll within the image. Data is updated approximately every half hour.
